Who:

The Liberian Mural Foundation was founded as a vehicle to preserve African art and create educational awareness on the untold stories of enslaved ancestors.

What:

The Liberian Mural Foundation has a collection of exceptional art that depicts the history of Liberia, among the few that survived the nation's civil war. With pieces such as the emotive Liberian Relief recovered and on view, the "story of sacrifice and survival" continues to educate, enrich, and empower communities.

Our Impact:

Headquartered in Harlem, renowned as the center of black culture, The Liberian Mural Foundation is an integral part of reconnecting the past to the present and future. More than 1,200 students have learned about black history - from Juneteenth to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond - through the arts. The Osei Rubie Charitable Fund endowed the Foundation with $2,500 to share the importance of Sankofa or teaching the descendants of the African diaspora about its cultural heritage.
