WHO:

The Tree of Life Center is a multi-use community resource center that was established by the First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica congregation to help neighboring residents restore their lives and become self-sufficient individuals. The Center is an expansion of existing programs and services offered by the Queens congregation including a food pantry, weekly community dinner, clothing closet, basic educational programs, and life coaching.

WHAT:

The Tree of Life Center provides social services, adult continuing education, youth programs, financial counseling, training on community organizing, courses for test preparation and professional development.

IMPACT:

Every week, nearly 6,000 individuals receive a nutritious 3-course hot meal. More than 300 families are fed through the food pantry monthly. Free health screenings and blood drives are also commonplace for this congregation who have answered God’s call “to welcome all God’s children and transform lives.”
